Novelist Junichi Watanabe sues Chinese publishers for printing pirated books

June 25th, 2008 by James

Record China reports that Junichi Watanabe, author of popular novels such as A Lost Paradise, has sued Chinese publishers for printing and selling pirated copies of his books.

A publishing company spokesman released a statement claiming that his company had purchased the rights to one of Watanabe’s books, but it made no mention of whether or not they had legally obtained rights to the other Watanabe novels it had printed and sold.
