‘Wanted’ video targets Akihabara idiots
Remember our mention the shameless idiots who waved and grinned at news cameras during live coverage of the aftermath of a mass killing in Tokyo’s Akihabara district? It seems that angry users of the Japanese mega forum 2-channel have launched an effort to expose the identities of the people.
The following “Wanted” video has surged to the top of YouTube’s view rankings today:
Images showing the culprits are also being posted over and over again all over 2-channel:
It’s terrible when internet mobs go after people, but you it would be pretty hard to claim that these guys weren’t asking for it. They made their faces and attitudes public by choosing to step into camera range and act like idiots during a live news broadcast about a tragic event.

People do stupid things in front of crowds. News at 11.

I agree. People make mistakes. Stupid ones. REALLY STUPID ones. But those type of people need to grow up and simply aren’t worth the time. Isn’t it better to do all you can for the grieving families then go off on people who can’t stand to miss out on 15 minutes of fame?

One of my questions is: Do they know that the reporters are reporting the mass killing? We all know about the mass killing before seeing the video. But maybe these people have no clue? We have no way of telling.

Perhaps these are small town people (from Yamaoku or Inaka) in the big city for the first time, and not accustomed to such a big event.
Of course, since Akihabara is the place for electronic stuff they are drooling over the fancy big city TV equipment.
It’s the same thing here in Phoenix Arizona USA we have people waving at the camera during serious news events. It’s today’s youth they have no feelings at all!

The idiot who was praying at one of the scenes in this tragedy is a fraud and should be called on it. I think this wanted video is a bad idea, I don’t think we should give them more air time as it is…

All reporting is “live” and this particular reporting took place after the cleanup, perhaps some of these fools were not even aware of what had transpired there that day in the hours before they had arrived.

The same thing happened when during the reporting of the Jun Hase murder in ‘97. Idiots will be idiots. And having been near the scene of on-the-street reporting numerous times, I can safely say that if you’re there for more than 10 seconds, you know pretty much what is going on. If you can’t hear the reporting, you can at least see and hear all the ambulances, fire trucks, police cars, people crying/screaming/talking, etc…No excuses for those morons.

what’s wrong with looking at the camera anyway? They’re not doing any harm to anyone. I bet people there are also people around the world who would do the same thing in front of a live TV camera. As for the idiots waving at Mom on TV, I couldn’t care less what happens to them since I do agree, they were asking for it.
