Living in Nagasaki-city, the Family Mart in my town sold "The Best" - Milwaukee's Best. I couldn't believe it and I couldn't believe they sold it for 112 yen a can.

Stella is bad, bad, bad beer.

I bet it will sell well here, oddly as high grade J beer is much better.

We have no bars serving Kilkenny in my neck of the woods. :( Even Guinness isn't that easy to come by here.

Stella and Hoegaarden aren't news. They are already sold pretty cheap here. I'm looking for more American micro-brews. Sierra Nevada anyone? InBev doesn't deal with those kinda beers sadly.

Kilkenny is imported by Sapporo in conjunction with their import-export deal with Diago. Along with Gunness, Kilkenny a brand of the giant multinational drink maker Diago.

Any bar serving Sapporo, Yebsu, or Gunness can get Kilkenny kegs from their distro. Bars that serve non Sapporo beers (Kirin, Suntory, Asahi) will not have a chance. The Distros don't like to have their product in competition in the same bar. For example, you'll rarely see Kirin and Asahi being sold on tap in the same place.

That being said, you can still find Kilkenny throughout Japan. Look for bars that have Gunness signs and ask inside. The Wexford Tavern in Nishinomiya has Kilkenny on tap. If you come in on a Sunday ask for David!
