If you watched Kotooshu receiving the Emperor’s Cup yesterday, chances are you saw the grudge match that occurred at the end of the tournament:
A display of yokozuna pride meant Day 15 action wasn’t completely overshadowed by formalities. The tournament ended testily when Asashoryu gave fellow yokozuna Hakuho a completely unnecessary body check after slapping him down. Hakuho wasn’t having any of it and shouldered Asa away–knives were stared and unspoken promises of revenge made.
