U.S. Military golf ball injures Japanese child

A child playing in a park nearby Camp Zama was hit by a stray golf ball yesterday:

The 11-year-old was hit in the face with the golf ball after a member of the U.S. military playing golf on the course inside the base accidentally hit it over the fence and into a park. The kid was not seriously hurt, but he did get a bloody nose.

The U.S. military has said it will take measures to make sure such an incident will not occur again in the future.

Seriously most of been a slow news day. On top of the fact they watch the U.S. Military there like a hawk.

I tend to agree. What the hell? A stray golfball? After rape and murder, they seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

I felt like doing a melodramatic joke about the military needing to get out of Japan, but realized it would probably be taken wrong. And heck, the military may really need to get out of Japan; I am undecided on that.

Do they have private Jacuzzis and Onsens in those bases as well? Sounds kind of like Hugh Heffner’s mansion, only I bet it’s 95% males.
