If Chinese food makes you fat, you’d see a lot more obese people in China than in the U.S.. I personally think the monkey was fed fast food from the West.

They do have “don’t feed the monkeys” sign, people just choose to ignore it. Why this happens in Osaka I don’t know. The Zoo in Tokyo doesn’t seem to have this problem, but there the mokeys have a scale, they can see how much they weight, so they are a lot more self-conscious about their weight haha.
