More Anti-Terrorism Performances

May 3rd, 2008 by James

Over 1000 people participated in an anti-terrorism training event for police in Tokyo yesterday. The event included an assassination scenario, a violent protest scenario, and a demonstration of how a bomb squad would dispose of an explosive device.

Like other such events, it was an action-packed performance that gave the news media an opportunity to take dramatic photos:

Lovely red ties. Actually the only ones doing a good job are the dogs on the second video.

I’m not one for excessive secrecy, but putting a VIP protection drill on national television is not the smartest idea. If the guys look like they’re doing too good a job, the opposition is going to try something else. Um, like blowing up the VIP’s car while on the road, which everyone knows is pretty popular these days.

That having been said, they did look real good. Apparently their job is not to actually kill the would-be assassins–that’s obvious by the size of their guns. Strictly defensive. Their job is to act as bullet stops and keep the VIPs moving. They had the VIPs back in the car in a flash.

at least these are better than the tv shows that pass for entertainment. and i agree with bigfoot. don`t show all your cards, and i am thinking that maybe they are.

These are great. America should do these. Terrorism sucks and I’m glad some people care to stop it.

Wow, that first dog was amazing! He flew thru the open and pushed the guy out the other side. He was so fast it was almost a blur.
