I watched the original news report on TV the other day, and they kept addressing the issue as “vandalism”, and it really gave the impression that this was some sort of premeditated act, but here we see it’s just some crotchety drunken salaryman on his way back to the old ball and chain.

I usually associate “vandalism” with something like misdeed that teen-age “smart axx” kids would do while they go out with their brains left behind home.

Yeah it is a stupid, anti-social thing and all, but theres not gonna be a manhunt, resulting in him being arrested and shot, will there??

He should be surely hung in a sport stadium. I know people would be permissive for something like this in the west. Then you are talking about the sloppy society lacking such sensitivity. That’s why our country is so filthy and dirty. The people in my country sweep out all dirt and garbage out in the street from their home so that they can keep the inside neat and tidy.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he blames stress at work. It seems a lot of overly stressed Japanese seek stress relief by doing things which, in hindsight, were not so smart.

I think this applies to most of the world’s stressed workers–though Japanese cases do tend to be a bit more “creative” in their venting.

I don’t know about publicly shaming him more than having that video on the news, but I hope they do find and fine that guy.

How do we know it is the original terrorizer? Maybe its a copycat; a drunken salaryman (like Alex suggested) who saw it on the news.

A community service for one year should teach this man a lesson. I hope the police will be able to find this bullie.
