Must have been an expensive but cheaply made Japanese piece of crap. But this story doesn't beat the one about the Japanese guy riding his bike home and towing another alongside with his hand, then crashing, and the brake handle somehow wedged itself into his eye socket and poked his brain, so he died. I guess we can assume the umbrella was NOT a cheap 100yen model from China, as that surely would have become the focus of the report.
