Yeah, I think so. I was once able to watch a show (From Deutsche Welle I think) that featured something like this for cars. However, it’s not for public use. It’s located at VW’s (or some other German car manufacturer’s) headquarters I think, or at least one of their larger stores. Its much much larger than this, but it’s fast as well. It’s used for “dispensing/delivering” the desired car to the waiting purchaser/customer.

This is amazing. And so cheap! If they built something like this in this here in the UK I bet they would charge like £10 = 2000 yen for a day.

But given that they can’t even get their underground to work properly here I doubt they could pull something like that off at all.

I’ve actually been to Tokyo, and i seen at 100 every day when I was there, so this seems like a pretty good idea. The sidewalks in Shinjuku are about a meter wide so its hard to ride a bicyle let alone walk on the sidewalks without dodging other bicycles

Looks cool. Seems like if one bike falls over in storage it could crash the whole lot. I wonder how long before it gets hacked and starts handing out free bikes to anyone with a bit of tech skills.
