My opinion is that there will be less chances of a protest occurring in Japan because I have the impression that generally, Japanese people usually keep their opinions to themselves, especially if its critical of something or somebody else. Although, of course, this is a very hasty generalization. If ever there won't be any protests, I won't attribute it solely to lack of care. I am however expecting a large showing of Chinese supporters, whether bused in or not.

Doubt that Japanese people care enough about Tibet or Darfur or Falun Gong to protest. The 2Chan crowd keep talking about protesting on their message boards but I bet they're full of it. A group of skinny otaku shouting anti-Chinese slogans is going to look ridiculous anyway.
