Funny how Koizumi is going on about ramen being Japanese, when most Japanese I have talked about the subject with do not consider ramen to be Japanese food. Personally I think it’s about as Japanese as kasutera, which is to say quite sufficiently authentic.

Chicken ramen though – give me a good rich tonkotsu any day….

Saying Koizumi is a good politician is like saying chicken ramen is the best because chicken ramen is the only flavor around.

Thanks, James. I don’t watch much broadcast TV, so I would’ve missed this one without your post. The King of Political Improv Theater hasn’t lost a step,has he?

Mssrs. Aso and Yosano are nice people, and I wouldn’t mind living next door to any of those ex-DPJ leaders, but it would be nice to have that alternative.
