It was very interesting and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get an idea of the daily hardships of just surviving in North Korea. Jenkins describes a very controlled life and how he and the other three defectors attempted to escape to Russia in 1966 but were turned away and returned to the North Koreans. He is all pro N.Korea and his son is training to be a N.Korean diplomat. Very weird. Although he was in bad shape when they inteviewed him so maybe he is dead now?
