Big Stan

Looks like Japan’s beloved MMA fighter / adorable giant Bob Sapp has gone back to America to further his career. And by further his career, I mean “reprise his role as a big, scary, comedic, over-the-top, cartoonish hulk of a man.” He’s featured in this trailer for Big Stan, the new Rob Schneider film coming out this summer. Intriguing.

    Plot summary on IMDb:

Stan, a two-bit con man, is being sent to prison for fraud and the prospect terrifies him. Seeking help from a mysterious martial arts guru known only as The Master, Stan transforms himself into a kung fu expert — ultimately bringing the warring prison gangs together and establishing peace within its walls.

So…naturally, Bob Sapp is one of the prison gang members. You can see him in all his beastly glory at about the 1:18 mark for a few seconds. I wonder if he has any clever lines. You know, like “BRAAaaaGH!” or “MMMnnnnngggh.” or “Hulk smash!” Mr. Sapp last appeared in 2 films in 2005; Elektra and The Longest Yard. He’ll also make appearances in the upcoming films Frankenhood (later in 2008) and Blood and Bone (2009).
