Exactly. Godzilla and King Kong are too obvious as #1. The list would be boring if that predictable. The Claw was a perfect option in my opinion. And you ask WHY it rates #1?

...Clearly, because it's big as a Battleship.

Agreed. It had an excellent howl too.

"The Giant Claw"... Never heard of it. How does it rate at No. 1? It's a vulture head on marionette strings! I'da gone for the giant who wears the ship as a hat in Time Bandits before that crud!

And just because King Kong beat Godzilla in "King Kong vs. Godzilla" doesn't make him a better monster. The recent King Kong flick was one of my more recent rasberry awardees.

The 1999 version of Godzilla was horrific. Not even Jean Reno could save it. I saw that pile when it came to theaters, waste of my moms money.

I think that the invisible monster from "Forbidden Planet" should have been on this list. You never saw it until it was caught in a force field, and even then all you saw was it's horrific outline. But until then all you saw were it's foot prints as it headed inside a space ship, and ripped a crewman to bits off camera.

Classic.
