Kano Sisters Become Anime Characters

Mainichi (Japanese) reports that the Kano sisters will play characters based on themselves in the new remake of the anime series Yatterman (also known as ‘Yattaman’). The former prostitutes can be seen holding images of their animated selves in the above picture, which is today’s most-viewed photo on Yahoo! Japan News.

Where did you hear about them being former hos?
I was surprised to learn (well, not that surprised I guess) that they’re not really sisters. Not even related.

Interesting. If true. Which is possible, certainly in a less than official way (ie working privately rather than for a club). Especially in the geinou business….

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. It’s bad enough that talentless geinojin monopolize the airwaves with their glorified fan clubs under the guise of “variety shows”, but now they want to monopolize cartoons with their likenesses as well. I hope this isn’t the beginning of a “guest star geinojin of the week” trend with Yattaman. I loved watching the old series and the new one has caught some of the flavor of it. I’d hate to see it ruined by a geino conga line intent on keeping their Q-Rating up. And if Bobby Ologun shows up on it, my TV is staying on cable.
