Snow Hits Tokyo
Significant acululation of snow is pretty rare around Tokyo, so the snowstorm that hit the city today is pretty big news. As the video above shows, the snowfall of between 10 and 20 centimeters has created some pretty beautiful scenes.

Then people go around saying global warming is nothing to worry about…global warming is more precisely increase between global temperatures high and lows. We felt it here hard this year in Canada. 3 winter storms to start winter and 1 yesterday, all of them dropped 15-30 centimeters. In between that time, we barely got anything which was highly unsual because usually we get snow slowly and steadely, but this year it was quick and massive drops of snow.
I love snow btw, but tis an indication.

Last week’s was a pretty nice snowfall as well. My lady kept saying to me ‘We can drive anywhere today! Its too dangerous!’ I come from Minnesota, so of course that made me chuckle a bit.

The dateline on that report about passengers being stranded at Narita is January 22, 2006.

Whoops, was sent that story by a reader and didn’t bother checking the date on it. I’ve edited the post to remove mention of it: thanks for the heads up.
[The e-mail said it was posted on Drudgereport.com, and sure enough, the article is linked on the frontpage there!]
International depatures and arrivals at Narita seem to be running fairly smoothly, with very few cancellations and few delays. (Flying soon, hence the interest).

Alarmists? A 5 min. search on google reveals a ton of info concerning why there is more snow when global warming occurs. Take a look at Europe: in the winter Europe is kept warm because of the Atlantic Gulf Stream. When this warm air stops Europe gets dramatically colder. As the ice covering Greenland melts, the ocean water in the area gets less salty and the Gulf Stream slows down. Global warming doesn’t mean the whole planet gets hotter, it just means that normal weather patterns get totally screwed.

But will Japan be around in 2500 AD due to global warming. This guy says no. See link inside my name.

By 2500, the nation of Japan will be history, as will all the nations of Asia,
Africa, the Americas and Europe.
We are entering uncharted waters, and as the waters rise and the
temperatures go up, future generations will have some important
choices to make: where to live, how to live, how to grow food, how to
power their climate refugee settlements, how to plan and how to pray.
