G8 Summit Logo Unveiled

January 5th, 2008 by James

Japan has picked an eco-tastic logo for the G8 summit it will be hosting this year:

The logo — which shows a green seed bursting to life surrounded by an earthly blue — was chosen from among 4,198 designs sent in by the public across Japan for the July summit, which will focus on environment and climate change.

“We expressed the coexistence of the natural environment and human beings on Earth. The logo reveals our hope that the Earth will forever remain a beautiful planet rich in greenery,” said Atsuya Kondo, 18, who represents a group of five high school students from Mie Prefecture who jointly designed the logo.
