Japan Railway’s Giant Lost & Found Vault
As part of its coverage of a recent decision by authorities to slash the time items are kept in lost & found inventories from 6 months to 3 months, NTV’s Real Time News was given a look inside the giant warehouse that all the stuff found abandoned on trains is kept:
Some of the items shown:
- a snowboard
- a mannequin’s head
- crutches
- wheelchairs
- bug catching nets
- tons and tons of umbrellas!
Items that are not claimed within 3 months will be either sold or thrown away.
