is this legal…? i mean they copy KFC…disneyland…and now the wii? i guess chinese arent very original when it comes to these things.
China’s inability or rather apathy towards enforcing patent rights for other nation’s corporations in China is going to bite them in the ass someday.
This kind of blatant theft is going to eventually drive manufacturers elsewhere. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but at some point corporations will recognize the threat China posses to their business.
Well, Nintendo, SONY, recording & movie industries, they are getting what they deserve. They install their factories over there to explore cheap labor, and the Chinese explore them back through this piracy; those ripoffs come straight from the same floor where the originals come from. I bet the sole difference between this “Vii” and the Wii is just the missing Nintendo logo.
DKO,
Did you watch the video mate?
quote: “I bet the sole difference between this “Vii” and the Wii is just the missing Nintendo logo.”
You kidding me? This looked like something from the 80s that was tossed together in twenty three seconds. Quality looked like sh$%. Bad graphics…. see that omelette flipping game?
If you meant that the concept of a cooking game in which you “cook an omelet” is wack enough to prove poor quality, you should know there actually is a Wii cooking game…

You linked to GameSpot. Not a good idea these days
getting what they deserve? im sorry but cheap labor is kinda a fact of life if you didnt notice. of course i think its wrong but would you wanna pay exponentially higher prices for common goods that you take for granted? if they were paid normal rates…prices would skyrocket. its a vastly complicated problem that honestly i dont see a solution to. but just because exploitation takes place doesnt give you the right to illegally copy and sell products from other countries. who do you think is making the vii? yes…exploited chinese workers…again.
I have to agree that some of these companies get what they deserve for exploiting slave labor in China and putting all that money into the Chinese governments pockets which they use to build nukes to kill us all, but at the same time I wonder when the Chinese are going to get what they deserve for stealing everything from their neighbors with no regards. I guess as long as they don’t ever invent anything on their own it can’t get stolen. Perhaps that’s part of the official plan, “They can’t steal what we don’t invent — steal for the greatness of China.” Sounds like capitalism with Chinese characteristics.
Nothing will happen…’cause what can countries really do about it? Trade is too lucrative to cut as well, and the Chinese know it. At the same time, I think people stereotype too heavily manufacturers with the people. Considering that the slew of Chinese painters, fashion designers, and many other artists are surpassing Japan’s in international recognition for it’s uniqueness already (ironic huh).
They don’t lack ideas or creativity, they simply are stealing profits from other businesses because the law lets them, and I think that’s the real reason people are frustrated… it’s one thing if you hide behind the guise of being poor or lack of current education, but when you can invent the stuff but choose to continue to rip profits, well, different story.
OMG… big LOL.
I love china’s ability to make the biggest crap out of everything.
copying the iphone, wii and everything else… go on China…
Engadget showed off the Vii and it looked like crap. Just a bunch of chinese hoping consumers will confuse “Wii” with “Vii” so they can make fat stacks of cash. Though it’s probably a better effort than most Chinese rip-offs, I’ll give them that.
I remember buying a “Sonyy” Mp3 player for 250 HKD on a trip to Hong Kong once. It went great with my “Penasonic” Headphones. Lasted about a month though…smh
hahaha…sonyy? penasonic?
You serious?
Talking of China, here is a beautiful original story of a Chinese girl from Oniazuma.

I think I liked China better before they discovered the joys of capitalism.
I think I liked China better before they discovered the joys of capitalism. Come to think of it, isn’t discovering capitalism during the Meiji period what led to the build up of the Japanese military-industrial complex?
This is wrong, very wrong. I drove for hours to the Wal-Mart out in the country side where no one give a shit about the Wii to get one and I was the only person that jumped up and down and there are 5 on the shelf. It is wrong to see the copycat but another side of me saying I don’t blame them. It is a hot game console and you don’t produce enough then people would seek for alternative.
Why wouldn’t you search for alternative when you stand in line for hours and all they can say is: sorry, we are out of wii. We only have total of 18 and you are customer number 98. All game console makers are a bunch of greedy produce less to jack the price up. They are no difference then countries rich in Oil. Second and Third world countries don’t give a shit about integrity nor copyright craps.
If people save their entire household monthly income to buy a Wii and come to find out that they don’t have any more then they will look for alternative, cheaper, better and in this case bigger box. This should be a lesson for all the console makers to produce more and stop being so greedy. Did you see the inside of the case? Some poster in here laughs about the size of it but I applauded.
Nintendo haven’t figure out how to make their inside console smaller. The Chinese Vii made definitely use less power since there is no moving part.
“Chinese Blow Job” This is what all Americans have wanted and they are getting it regardless of whether it’s Microsoft, Nintendo or whatever have you. Americans started it. Pretty soon, Chinese will want “American Blow Job”.
LMAO!! This ripoff is both hilarious and sad…
Thanks for sharing. I can copy wii games quite well. However I ofen get dificulties when I try to copy wii games without a mod chip
