Santa Claus Visits Japan

Santa Claus arrived at Narita Airport today:

The Santa has come from Denmark to spread holiday greetings and promote tourism to that country. The Japanese news report also mentions that this green (not red) Santa Claus will be speaking out about global warming and other environmental issues.

You bring up an interesting point. It could be possible that he is considered a diplomat, which could allow him to bypass normal immigration procedures. Unfortunately, the report does not give us the details we want to know.

Why do the have to make Santa a pawn for environmental issues? I could see him used for child labor and other things effecting children directly. But Global Warming?!

Hey, if the North Pole melts, what then? In fact it’s the carbon from his massive under-ice factories that is being blamed for it.

He doesn’t exploit child labour, but is under suspicion for racial/species discrimination in hiring.

Typical legal flummery here I see, trying to deny the reality of his client’s existence to avoid charges. But that won’t work, as neither the plaintiff nor the court nor the judge is real. So no escape that way.

And just look at the mugshot of Santa giving the finger! Sure, it’s not the middle finger, but it’s still a finger, and he’s still giving it! A defiant criminal if ever I saw one….

Even before I saw this story, I was imagining this to be the perfect example against fingerprinting – Santa Claus unable to provide a clean print as his hands are covered in elf magic, and being dragged off to jail by the Japanese police. Anyone got a costume?
