UFO Over Tokyo

November 18th, 2007 by James

Did some digging and discovered the above photo after seeing an article about it on Mainichi’s WaiWai:

Running under the headline “UFO in skies above Tokyo,” the sports newspaper known for its — “unique,” shall we say? — approach to news coverage shows a photo taken on June 16 this year of what appears to be a spherical object hovering above the Suntory Beer factory beside the Chuo Expressway in Fuchu, Tokyo.

Namiki says the most important part of the photo is the size of the UFO it depicts.

“It’s impossible to tell accurately just how big the UFO is, but if you compare it to the beer factory in the foreground, it must be really huge, probably a few dozen meters wide,” he tells Tokyo Sports.

it looks like and advertising balloon. we’ve had three siting over the new shopping mall here for a week or two now.but the fact its an out of focus blurry shot means it can be anything anyone wants to believe.

This news is from Tokyo Sports, an entertainment newspaper published in Tokyo. It is said that the only credible description in Tokyo Sports is the date of issue. That newspaper was once sued for libel. But judicial decision was that it is guiltless since no one believe what is written in Tokyo Sports.

Err, that makes the assumption of how far it is away from the lens.
