After the collapse of Taliban, Japan is very actively taking part in the reconstruction process of Afghanistan. Japan hosted the first donor’s conference for the reconstruction of Afghanistan. Japan has utilized around one billion USD pledge in Tokyo and Berlin conferences and further 450 million USD in London conference for Afghanistan reconstruction. So the Japan cooperation in the field of physical reconstruction by reconstruction schools, Roads, clinics and others and their assistance in bringing security and stability in Afghanistan through support to police by providing Salary, communication equipments and vehicles. Japan has been playing leading role in implementing DDR (Disarmament Demobilization and reintegration) and DIAG (Disbandment of Illegal armed groups) Processes.
However, at this moment Japan can play much greater role. For instance if Japan instead of sending their troops send their experts like in the field of agriculture, economy to provide training to the people of Afghanistan and make the system it will be more useful for the people of Afghanistan instead of sending troops.
