Masai Tribesmen Defeat Japanese Magician

When I saw the beginning of this show about Masai tribesmen being brought to Japan to be shown magic tricks, I was expecting something similar to past “lol we’re blowing the minds of these simple people with these magic tricks” shows that I’d seen on Japanese TV in the past. Instead, the show amazed TV viewers by displaying the incredible eyesight of the Masai.

In this clip, 2 tribesmen who were selected as having the keenest eyesight in their village arrive in Japan for some tourism and vision tests. Watch as they attempt to identify the 1.5 meter silhouettes of animals from several kilometers away [The show credits their amazing eyesight to their lifestyle on the savanna, where they must spot animals at far away distances and survive at night in total absence of electric lights.]:

After passing that test they were given a far more challenging task: defeating famous Japanese magician Mr. Maric by spotting the techniques he used in three magic tricks. Here are video clips of all the challenges:

As you can see, they successfully saw through all three of the tricks! The tricks may not have been the most advanced in the magic world, but it was still a pretty damn impressive feat to see through them.
