Take That, Foreign Car!
I was watching a Cops-like show on Japanese TV the other day and found the following clip somewhat amusing:
The police had been chasing some guy driving a big ol’ American car, but high speed chases on narrow Japanese roads aren’t exactly a safe activity and the car ends up slamming into a pole. The narrator says something like, “it was sturdy-built foreign car, BUT it smashed straight into the hard concrete pole.” Combined with the dramatic music, it was the perfect scene of a dangerous lawbreaker meeting its end (The driver of the car fled from police because he hadn’t paid his shaken fees for the last few years. Since he was driving an old American car, the fees would have been pretty damn high).
