Kunoichi: The Ultimate Obstacle Course [For Lady Ninjas]

This week women from across Japan competed in Kunoichi 2007, the female version of the Sasuke ultimate obstacle course (or “Ninja Warrior” to you American readers), and it was pretty damn cool. Those who missed the broadcast can read the results on the Japan blog Lost in Ube, which did some awesome live blogging of the event. In this case, KUNOICHI and SASUKE are being shown on G4 in the states as Ninja Warrior. G4 is sending their own “American Ninja” this year to compete.

I love this show. I catch it on G4 every now and then. The early stages are the best, in my opinion.
One of the reasons I enjoy it so much is trying to figure out what the announcer is saying, as it often SEEMS different than what the subtitles are. Not sure, though, as my Japanese listening comprehension skills are a bit lacking still.

The training of lady ninja is harsh. Being a Kunoichi is not easy. She is not only beautiful, but also skillful to kill. She is perfect.
