iPod Touch Hype Reaches Japan

September 6th, 2007 by James

The iPod Touch was announced in America around 3AM Japan time today, and Apple was kind enough to have a bunch of samples sent to Fuji TV in time for their reporters to play with them at 5:33AM. Here’s the video:

It’s could actually end up being quite a clever move by Apple (intentional, maybe not?).

There have been concerns that Apple would not be able to sell the iPhone in Japan because most people would think “so what, we have all this web-browsing stuff already in our domestic phones”. The local population won’t have thought about usability at all.

Now, if they end up buying the iPod Touch… and start to realise how much usuable the UI is…. then maybe they’ll start to appreciate the advantages over the local phones when iPhone arrives in Japan (assuming of course they make iPhone proper 3G).

I’m sorry but the iPod Touch is the biggest scam Apple could pull. It’s just like what raindrop said. An iPhone without the phone.

the thing is, like myself, some people dont like merging everything on one device, it may save space but id rather have several devices of great quality than just an iphone, if you know wat i mean, i just want the internet, then music nd the vides nd the pictures, i have several phones, i dont need that part… i dont mean in anyway to be gettin into an argument just thought id put my view across, cheers
