3 Robots That Can Save Your Life

September 6th, 2007 by James

Last night’s The House 1-2-3 had a very cool ranking of the Top 3 Rescue Robots:

3. The Bari-Bari-II, a jack-up mobile robot that is designed to help rescue people trapped under debris:

2. The ACM-R5, a snake-like robot that can swim through water and up pipes:

1. The T-52 Enryu (”Rescue Dragon”) is built to cut a path through debris for rescue workers, in the wake of an earthquake or other catastrophe. It looks like it is straight out of the movie Aliens:

The T-52 would be pretty useless on rough terrain.

A bulldozer would do better, just some engineers living out their Gundam fantasies in the guise of public works.
