[...] [This segment is the second part of a series that aired during a two-hour Shimura Zoo special last week. Those of you who understand Japanese probably noticed that the video says this is Pan-kun’s last trip. It may be true that Pan-kun will not be going on trips into the outside world anymore, he will still be making plenty of television appearances. Future Pan-kun segments will be filmed on the grounds of Pan-kun’s home. He won’t be able to ride trains or go to udon restaurants, but he’ll still be able to take part in wacky experiments involving slow motion, house thieves, and evil twins!] [...]

i think it's a pretty lousy thing to do to pan-kun. i don't know that it's really a routine. it'd be harder to teach him to feign jealous rage than to just see his natural reaction. it does remind me of one of my favorite sketches of all time though, monkey torture.

Haha, you guys don't realize that this is all set up. Every single one of them are routines. Its your perception of the situation that is being directed into thinking Pan-kun is being mistreated or shunned. That is the desired effect. I thought it was funny.

Pan-kun is obviously loved very much by his trainer.

I'm with Sish - if you treat Pan-kun as just a dumb animal for your entertainment, then all very well, but he is portayed as very intelligent and almost human, so something like this would be close to traumatising.

Wow this is kinda sick.

Imagine if your father or mother did this to you as a child (8-10).
I really don't think this would be acceptable if this was a human so I don't really know why this is acceptable because its a monkey.
You would have thought that when he made it cry he would have realized he had made a mistake. Makes me think hes just trying to exploit pan-kun.

I have been a fan of this segment for a while, but I am very disappointed in this one.
