Chimpanzee Pan-kun vs. Pon-kun

September 2nd, 2007 by James

Genius chimpanzee went for a picnic with his trainer on last night’s Shimurai Zoo, only to find that he had been abandoned! Pan-kun’s trainer had left their picnic area to eat with Pan-kun’s evil twin, Pon-kun. How did Pan-kun react when shunned and ignored? Watch the video to find out:

HAHaha this is a good episode its funny how Pan-Kun beats up Pon-Kun. It was so Kawaii!!! how at the ends Pan-kun snuggles up with the Trainer and it was sad seeing Pan-Kun Cry.

Wow this is kinda sick.

Imagine if your father or mother did this to you as a child (8-10).
I really don’t think this would be acceptable if this was a human so I don’t really know why this is acceptable because its a monkey.
You would have thought that when he made it cry he would have realized he had made a mistake. Makes me think hes just trying to exploit pan-kun.

I have been a fan of this segment for a while, but I am very disappointed in this one.

I think even the people watching in the little box thought it was a little f-ed up.

I’m with Sish – if you treat Pan-kun as just a dumb animal for your entertainment, then all very well, but he is portayed as very intelligent and almost human, so something like this would be close to traumatising.

Haha, you guys don’t realize that this is all set up. Every single one of them are routines. Its your perception of the situation that is being directed into thinking Pan-kun is being mistreated or shunned. That is the desired effect. I thought it was funny.

Pan-kun is obviously loved very much by his trainer.

Yes, I’m sure they talk to pan-kun about how this was only a joke before hand.

I’m sure this wasn’t a complete mind f*ck for him at all.

HA! That was great! Poor Pan-Kun!!! He sure took matters into his own hands, though!

I love Pan-Kun videos.

i think it’s a pretty lousy thing to do to pan-kun. i don’t know that it’s really a routine. it’d be harder to teach him to feign jealous rage than to just see his natural reaction. it does remind me of one of my favorite sketches of all time though, monkey torture.
