no pay no pay no pay
its the 26th and NO PAY
they promise the 27th, refunds to students are scheduled to start on thE 28th but they cannot legally start them without paying US first...any NOVA teachers reading this
EVEN IF YOU WERE PAID IN SEPT. DO NOT EXPECT TO HAVE MONEY IN YOUR ACCOUNT IN OCTOBER 15TH

the governemtn needs to take action to at least force teh company into bankrupcy so we can all get employment insurance

this problem is putting people in the street, people with CHILDREN!!! rents arent being paid, utilities are being shut off...
this is unethical, immoral and flat out disgusting
Mr Sahashi Nozom should be effing lynched

No pay today. They say it will go though on the 18th but who knows.
Everyone heard about how the Japanese staff didn’t get paid on time last month, but I thought that NOVA couldn’t possibly be stupid enough to do it to their foreign staff. We will just leave!!!

I urge all NOVA staff to contact their embassy and make an official complaint. If NOVA does go bust, this will have very bad repercussions for Japans image abroad. Surely the government cannot just let this happen?!?!?!?!?!

The general attitude is that if pay is late, the staff can just borrow money till it arrives. How about NOVA borrow it instead!

I'm looking for other work as we speak. This is ridiculous. Where's my resume???

I just finished with Nova a few months ago, and all I can say is that this is not very unexpected, although when I was working in the company I always sorta felt like the company was too big to beat... maybe true, for employees, but just as good, it looks like the customers will kill the beast. If I were working with Nova still, I would start putting out resumes and looking around... whether or not I believed the company will fall... working for my new company has been a pleasure (not perfect though, nobody in the country seems to follow rules for pension and insurance) and my 6 weeks summer vacation was a great rest which will make me smile a true smile when I start back on Tuesday... something I didn't do much of around NOva.

It's probably not very appropriate that I give some advise to English native persons about Japanese working environment. But from my experiences, I could imagine some Japanese firms(including English language schools) have a bit cult-like system, that employees will be ordered to work like robots or soldiers. Besides, it's not so easy to understand your Japanese colleagues because they mostly tend not to speak up what they actually think or feel.

I guess there is no effective prescription if you feel uneasy at your work place in Japan. First thing you have to adopt yourself, is to become patient. (Be aware of the fact wherever you work, things are not that easy.)

Maybe there is a big difference in quality of working environment and salary among companies. So, choosing better company should be the first priority.
