Perhaps you should just worry about yourself. Generalizing an entire nation as not being open to change is pretty narrow minded in and of itself. With all that post-doc research you have I’d think you’d have known better than to boil things down to generalizations. If you don’t have any helpful suggestions to change things, don’t speak up.

I spent three years doing post-doc research at UT-IMCB and grew really really really tired of a small number of Japanese people that walked around with a major “holier than thou” attitude.

For a Country that has it’s fair share of major social/economical/governmental problems, you’d think they’d be a bit more open to change, since it’s obvious that continuing on with the status quo certainly isn’t working very well.
