Western Women Eat Green Tea Ice Cream

It’s interesting that Haagen Dazs advertises it’s green tea flavored ice cream in Japan by showing TV viewers some western women enjoying the ice cream:

Any idea what demographic such an ad would be targeted at?

I doubt the girls had much to do with it.

There’s a very logical reason for this. Haagen Das is branded as a luxury western brand. Just as in America, it’s advertised as a European treat (despite being an American brand). This is their advertising slant. The flavour being green tea is not going to prevent them from sticking to their marketing plan.

i’m not quite sure but i think this is targeted towards the female youth (senior/college students) and female yuppie markets.

probably Haagen Daz is riding the japanese-female-who-follows-western-diet trend that’s going on lately.
