Ichiro Advertises Oil

A few years ago, I recall reading an article in an American newspaper about how Ichiro Suzuki was very selective about agreeing to promote or advertise products. If memory serves me right, the article claimed that Ichiro would only sign advertising deals for products he personally used and thought highly of.

Since I came to Japan, I’ve always wondered if Ichiro, who lives in America, really thought thinks Japan’s Eneos gas stations were major quality, as he claims in the commercials he makes for them:
