Thanks for understanding. By no means do I support such an indiscriminate method such as atomic weapons. I’ve been to Hiroshima and must say… it’s beyond sad what happened.
My argument was just putting people on the spot like that. I teach courses in ‘propaganda’ at a uni level and stuff like that irks me. When people bait someone, almost any answer is bad. For example, “do you feel Japanese are tragic or comic”, either way the answer is insulting.

The producer of this experimental film, Haruhiko Hagimoto (萩元晴彦), produced good TV shows such as 遠くへ行きたい (a show for travelling) and オーケストラがやってきた (a show of classic music) in 1970′s and 1980′s.

Why yes, it was the capital of the Mooris before Sekigahara, the Emperor Meiji’s command centre during the Russo-Japanese War, and boasts a fine example of a flat-land castle (albeit restored). Certainly I have heard of Hiroshima….

Note she doesn’t say anything about Nagasaki when people mention it – no, it’s Hiroshima and Hiroshima only that gets the A-Bomb victim treatment.

I think this entire interview was tragicomic….

I loved it because if you ask a loaded question, then you have something like that coming. It’s called a back-fire. Of course every American has heard about Hiroshima, so why would she ask that type of question? She’s trying to provoke them.
Let me ask you this then Aki, do you feel responsible for the lives lost in Pearl Harbor, Korea, Nanking, Philippians and about six other island nations in the pacific. I’m not trying to start something here, but when someone is put on the spot for something they have NO responsibility for, then they should be able to defend themselves and their country to the best of their power.

When I see this kind of comment, I always ask myself “Should America be nuked by Iraqi?”…..and I cannot find proper answer.

She interviewed some educated people. The one man knew a lot about Japan including the date when Hiroshima was bombed. It was funny the man who answered “Prime Minister” as the most important person was asked what type of government Japan has as a follow up question.

It seemed she was interviewing near a base, anyone else know more about this?
I’ve never been so proud of Americans before! I couldn’t have answered better myself.

I loved the part when she asked “Have you heard about Hiroshima?” and got in return; “Have you heard about Pearl Harbor?”

I feel bad Japan was represented by someone so… weak.
