No F-22 Fighters For Japan

The Yomiuri Shinbun has just reported that the US House of Representatives decided on the 25th to maintain the ban on the sale of the F-22 fighter to any other nations. The Japanese government had been hoping to purchase some F-22′s to replace their aging fleet of fighters, but it appears that they may now have to produce their own fighter, although it is possible that their fighter program could make the US Congress realize that American companies will miss out on some big money and review their ban. Japan’s defense ministry is apparently now directing some of its efforts towards lobbying America for permission to use certain advanced technologies that could be used in the non-F22 Japanese fighter.
