Foreign Minister Aso vs. Alzheimer’s Patients

Foreign Minister Taro Aso has apologized today for insulting and offending people with comments he made in a speech yesterday:
He made the controversial remarks on Thursday while he was explaining the difference in price between Japanese rice that is sold domestically and that exported and sold in China in a speech he delivered in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture.
He pointed out that a bag of rice that is sold for 16,000 yen in Japan is priced at 78,000 yen in China.
“Even Alzheimer’s disease patients can understand which is more expensive,” he said in his speech.
Geez Mr. Aso, even Alzheimer’s disease patients would understand that it’s best to keep the stupid and offensive comments to a minimum right before a major election.
