Japanese Report On Fake iPhones In China

July 8th, 2007 by James

If you’ve heard that the iPhone won’t be released in Asia until 2008, you’re totally wrong! A Japanese news crew recently traveled to China and discovered that there are many “iPhones” being sold there:

The counterfeit iPhones have been created so that they can work on China’s mobile networks and they are popular sellers. The Japanese news crew goes to a mobile phone shop and see a fake iphone model that’s been on sale now for over 2 months, and sells for about $100. Apparently there are a few fake iphone models: some have oversized Apple logos, others have the camera lens in the center of the Apple Logo, and there are even some with backwards Apple logos. They ask the Chinese shopkeepers if the phones they are looking at are the real thing, and he assures them that they are real iPhones manufactured by the American company Apple!

Do average American really have a choice to not buy “Made in china” products? Just go to most of the retails and chinas in America, 99% of the stuffs for sell are made in china, from low brow like Wal mart/target/costco to “supposedly higher quality” chain like Crates and Barrel/Pottery barn/whole food. EVERYTHING is made in China.

So DUDE think about whether you really have the Choice. Unless you grow and make everything yourself. Don’t put all the blame to China, think about your greedy “want to pay as little as possible for mass production” corporations in Amerca… please.

In the video, they say that It has not been decided yet whether iPhone will be sold in Japan, due to the different way the signal is managed in japanese networks, compared to the standards in the rest of the world. In fact, most japanese phones do not use SIM card, for instance, and they transmit on a different frequency. In any case, I cannot imagine that Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, would even think about leaving Japan, a big market where Apple has a lot of power, without iPods when they become available next year.

Well, I think Chinese stuff is invading not only America but the whole world, and it´s true let´s thank the low budget mass production they have over ther. In fact even I live in Mexico it´s kind of scary this stuff. Did you know that a Chinese tried to copyright the Virgin Mary´s image? Come on I mean that belongs to all the people, especially in Mexico, becouse she is a very popular icon down here. So we can´t go against buying chinese stuff, but if we can, let´s start boycotting, in any way we can.

Copyrighting the Virgin Mary’s image? Why did they try to do that? For urinals?
