Japanese SWAT Members Train To Fight Terrorism

They’re actually called “SAT” instead of SWAT in Japan, but they’re still pretty cool. Here’s a video of some SAT members taking part in an anti-terror training exercises, which they have stepped up prior to the 2008 G8 summit in Hokkaido:

It is odd that several of the SAT members take cover behind opened car doors…

If I’m not mistaken, unlike in the movies, the thin sheet metal and vinyl interior of a car door would not provide much protection from a gunshot whatsoever. Instead, I have read that it is better to open the door but remain in the car and behind the engine block as much as possible, while shooting from the space between the windshield and the door frame of the ajar door. The latter would logically provide much more ballistic protection and overall safety.

Yeah I wonder if there will be major protests in Hokkaido? Its not like thousands of ppl can roll up and get into Japan just to protest. Its not like Germany last year or this year. I forgot but you get the point. And replying to Ron…yeah that wouldnt work at all. If anyone here remembers the North Hollywood shootout in LA in like ’93? The cops were taking cover behind their doors when the bank robbers had AKs. Couple of them got shot taking cover behind their doors…so the tactic being used in this video is kinda horse shit if u ask me.

In the video, there is more flashes coming from the journalists’ cameras than from the SAT guns. It’s just propaganda.
