ESPN shows replays from previous eating competitions all the time last year Chestnut lost to Kobayashi by a hotdog this year Chestnut one when Kobayashi had a reversal resulting in a 3HDB deduction

Annie, the results from yesterday were Chestnut with 66 hotdogs. 66! Once again Americans have something to be proud of. Now if only we could do something about that Iraq place…

You must be reading the 2006 results. All the main news organizations, including the one linked in this update and the Japanese news clip I included, say Kobayashi lost.

Kobayashi won the competition. He ate 53 3/4 hotdogs while Chestnut ate 52 hotdogs.

To be honest I find this kind of competition is just sick (btw: do they have to puke it up afterwards?). But – well – if I see other competitions, its not the worst (I remember monster truck show seen somewhere staged only to show they can manage to run some 1/4 mile or so burning gallons of gas which would be enough to drive a regular car 30 miles or more)…
