Square Watermelons Go On Sale!

It’s summer, and that can mean only one thing: It’s the season they release cube-shaped watermelons! Here’s a video report about these odd melons:

The watermelons featured in the news report where grown inside hard glass containers in Kagawa Prefecture, and will soon going on sale at a price between 13,000 and 15,000 yen (about 105 to 120 US dollars). What a deal, right?

Why in the world would you want a square watermelon? I mean it looks cool, but um yeah, that’s it.
