I usually don’t have stuff for long, because I end up either losing them or breaking them, so I don’t have a chance to name them. My stupid twin sis keeps using my hair straightener, so to keep her claws off MY stuff, I usually name my stuff.
Once, when I was 10 I named my GAMEBOY ‘Ninny’ because it’s shorter than Nintendo. I had no idea Ninny was a word used for a simpleton, but now that I know the definition, Im gonna use it on my sister! Mwahahahaha

I don’t have a nickname for my computer, but I’m sure it’s not just Japanese women who have talked to their computers before.
I mean, haven’t we all had a moment where a slow site was loading or a software crashes and we say something aloud about it?

My named my first laptop Tosa-kun. This one is Tosa-kun II.
“Tosa” comes from Toshiba Satellite, see. Heh.

And yes, i talk to it occasionally… mostly a little “Ah $#!+! Work, you @#*%$@!!” when needed. Otherwise, i don’t have much to say to it.

My computers’ names are:

Desktops: Shiva and Ganesh
Laptops: Jubal, Wayfarer and Turtle

Most people name their boats, I name my computers. Also, this helps find resources shared on the network. Example. I can tell my sister that her party invitations are on Shiva in the folder “Invitations” and she can find it. Or that the Music is on Jubal in an obvious folder.
