A university student has won a clam shell-throwing competition using chopsticks by throwing a shell a record-breaking 26.95 meters.

The 20-year-old student joined some 120 other people on June 3 who took part in the contest, organized in Yokkaichi by a local chamber of commerce and industry organization.

The student was a little disappointed despite winning the competition because he wanted to hurl a clam shell 30 meters. The clam shells used were mostly 10 centimeters long.
