YouTuber Posts Anti-Australian Videos

I think it’s quite typical for anglo-saxons … now In Poland every weekend we have many British people drinking and screaming and behaving with no respect to others …. Or American tourists who think it is normal to talk loudly in a bus or train …. There must be smth in anglo-saxon culture- maybe some high stress mixed with racism/chouvinism?

As an Aussie, I’m pretty disgusted by these videos. It just shows what kinds of idiots are allowed to get into another country and cause, what could be considered, hate crimes.

Intoxicated Aussies? That’s a pretty regular sight here in Melbourne. Yes, and a few idiots also drink on the train too – but most of the time they are pretty quiet and don’t disturb other passengers. It’s somewhat amusing how the Japanese deal with these trouble makers. Wonder if they get deported or anything like that.

P.S. I think the first vid was taken in Amerika-mura in Osaka. I remember that triangular part when passing thru last year.

I can never forget the image of some Japanese reporters shouting “kusai-kusai” when they approached the body of a victim of the massive wave that stuck Indonesia a few years ago.
These louts can excuse their behavior the way many Japanese do-”I was drunk”
Funny how the Australians stood out on the train, but fit in with the filth they encountered near the station.

While the men on the train bragging about trying to score are not atypical of gaijin in Japan, I think the latter two videos were set-up.

Also, note that the group in the first video is three male caucasians, three Japanese males, and one Japanese female (who was getting a lot of laughs out of this). The offensive behavior was not racist, just rude and inappropriate.

The good stuff that foreigners do in Japan doesn’t show up on youtube; it shows up on the TV. But, perhaps this sort of video will help us think more about how we impact our surroundings.

Those videos were absolutely disgusting but eerily familiar. The guy in the first video has no defense to the physical treatment he got, considering his verbal taunts would reasonably invite retaliation, and his physical handling of the bike creates a real public danger and possibility that he would use other items as weapons. As for the second video, I’ve experienced something similar to this on many occasions. I’m Asian-American, so I guess I’m somewhat inconspicuous in a crowd of Japanese. There have been many occasions while sitting on a train, walking down the street, or what not, where foreigners have blurted out in the open some remark or complaint thinking the Japanese nearby would not understand. Most of the time people nearby were oblivious, other times they could understand but didn’t say anything. Common remarks include dissing local men, feeling especially horny for a Japanese girl, complaining about the small size of things in the country, etc. I see a lot of that reflected in the second video.

Personally, I met a few Australians in Tokyo, and most were not this idiotic. The majority were quite professional, run-of-the-mill people. But as they say, it only takes one person to ruin it for everyone else. Out of all the foreigners in Tokyo, I couldn’t help but leave Japan with the impression that the most annoying, loud, sekuhara-prone Western gaijin were Australians. It’s wrong of me to think so, but that’s the impression I got.

Looks like the cops were going to arrest him… I wonder if it was really worth it…
