Spinshell TV: OMG Japan

May 20th, 2007 by Claytonian

When I was about 13, I used to watch a Canadian sketch show called Kids in the Hall. I found it to be the funniest thing ever back then. Then I grew into an adult and realized the jokes were merely grin funny. Anyways, I bring it up, because it is somewhat analogous to the experience of watching the latest videos at Spinshell. Little is laugh-out-loud funny, and a lot of really dumb jokes that one could see a mile away show up. Its also fairly surreal at times. But the thing about Kids in the Hall is I still like it. And I like these shorts overall. There are things that could use some work. Acting comes to mind; the cast could benefit from retroscripting. The shots are a little amateur, but the editing and interweaving of them is great. But overall, anyone familiar with the English teaching, the racism, or the stereotypes about stereotypes will probably find these worth watching. And I feel they will get even better as time goes on.
