Shocking Chinese Sock Piracy
After a series of reports attacking unauthorized Chinese use of Disney characters in theme parks, Japanese reporters bring us a shocking new story of China’s disrespect of international brands. Here’s a short clip of the intro to the piece:
After making illegal copies of DVD’s and even copies of Disney’s characters, China has moved on to copying……designer socks! Apparently socks with labels marking them as the popular Japanese designer sock brand Kutsushita-ya had made their way onto the shelves of several Japanese stores and were being sold at a deep discount. However, an examination of the label reveals a printing error:

They almost got away with making a good copy, but the Chinese person who typed up the fake label clearly couldn’t tell the difference between the katakana characters n and so! Authorities have since confiscated similar socks found in Japan.
