Japanese kids to stab Jack Sparrow

Kurohige is a Japanese game in which children take turns sticking knives into a barrel until somebody stabs the random unlucky slot, sending a bearded pirate jumping out. The game has been around for a while now, and it has gone through several makeovers recently. A Hard Gay version that played sounds (“OK” for a safe slot, and “Foooo!” for the pop-out) was released last year, but HG’s popularity has since sunk, leaving boxes of HG Kurohige tucked away at the bottom of shelves in Japanese toy stores. This year, a special version of Kurohige has been released to coincide with the hype over Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. From the looks of its box, a safe knife entry into the barrel plays the sound of Johnny Depp saying “very good,” while the final knife plays “Captain Jack Sparrow, at your service” as a miniature Jack jumps out.
