Japanese TV reports on the Sheep Poodle Incident

A follow-up on the story of the international media creating a BS story about thousands of Japanese being “fleeced” into buying sheep they though were poodles (subtitled in English by YouTuber yamataoroci4):

I like how all the commenters from the “overseas” media have blonde hair and blue eyes.

I’d actually like to know how this story is spreading around the world. Has anyone heard about it over coffee from someone at work yet?

I first heard about it in a major Canadian newspaper. I stared at the newsprint for a moment before running to the internet to track some of this stuff down…because for the life of me I can’t imagine anyone mistaking hooves for paws.

I concluded it had to be a joke, or some form of serious miscommunication as the story filtered through various levels of news media. The fact that The National Post printed it with a straight face makes me wonder about their editorial staff….and I am sure someone over there is a bit sheepish at the moment.

As for how it’s spreading…you, me and anyone with a blog and an opinion about it, is a sure bet on how it’s getting around the web.

Well, it’s definitely all over the net. It’s been featured on the big news aggragators like Fark, so it’s known amongst the English-speaking web population.
