Wen Jiabao’s baseball skillz (Video)

April 15th, 2007 by James

As you might already know, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited Japan a few days for an “ice-melting” trip to improve relations between the two countries:

A smiling Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao sipped Japanese green tea, played baseball with college students and declared his trip a success on Friday, wrapping up a tour aimed at warming chilled ties and drawing investment to China.

Did you read the articles about Wen Jiabao playing baseball and wonder how well he played? I sure did. Luckily, I was able to find a Japanese news report that showed the Premier’s mad baseball skillz (he said it was the first time in 50 years he had played baseball):

Another cool moment of the Japan trip was Wen Jiabao’s morning jog:

Wen has sought to use his human touch as a diplomatic tool — chatting with Tokyo residents during an early morning jog & joining in group exercises.

Want some video of that? Here it is:

Pretty cool of the Premier to pose for pictures with random Japanese people he met in the park. No doubt his friendliness on this trip helped score some points to bring in the Japanese tourist dollars for the olympics next year!

China will not collapse at least until Beijing Olympic.
But it is interesting that Mia Farrow is blaming it as massacre olympic, which Spilberg of Jewish is supporting, because China is supporting Sudan government of Muslim which is genociding in Darfur.

Hopefully Wen’s ‘friendly’ approach will work. But, as any long-time foreign resident in Japan can tell you, just getting out and meeting with Japanese people (and smiling) is a great way to break the ice.

The man with the 10 year old coat is a lefty! And he sucks at baseball.
