A report on trucking Chinese goods into North Korea (Video)

April 14th, 2007 by James

Here’s an investigative report on North Korea that aired earlier this week on TV here:

The report takes place from the Chinese border, showing a truck terminal filled with North Korean trucks loading up with goods. The goods include:

  • Bananas
  • Ginger
  • Instant Ramen
  • Machinery
  • A Sanyo TV
  • Various Used TV’s

Most of the goods are sold at markets in North Korea, such as the crowded one shown in the report. The video of this market was smuggled out of North Korea a couple months ago. The business must be pretty good, because the end of the report profiles expensive Chinese apartments that North Koreans involved in the border trade are renting out. Chinese residents state that there are many North Koreans living in the apartment complex.
